Answer: D
Explanation: Because acid rain would not really affect droughts, and acid rain is better than no rain, so A is out of the question. Oil spills usually affect water, and I never heard of a giant oil spill on land, so same with B.
Ocean pollution has absolutely nothing to do with droughts, because Ocean pollution is for the oceans, not land, so only D is left.
Why it's D is because climate change makes the earth hotter, and there is more water evaporating, and more severe droughts.

How is an article written 50 years after an event different from an article written one year after the event?
A: It can reflect on the long-term impact of the event.
B: It can summarize the details of the event chronologically.
C: It can provide lots of specific details about the event.
D:It can show the immediate reactions of the people involved.
Answer:
A
Explanation:
An article written a year after would only have information on the effects of the event a year later and nothing beyond that, but an article written decades later would probably have more info on the long term effects of the event. For example what happened on 9/11, a year after the collapse of the towers there probably weren't that many people who had chronic diseases from the dust inhaled at Ground Zero, but years later more and more people found out they had some sort f long term effect from inhaling that dust years ago. Hope this helps :)

Clearly, "bird brains" are more complicated than we think. And perhaps, we humans aren't so smart after all. That's something to think about next time you watch a bird. And if you see some gulls, think twice before you disturb them. They just might remember your face. And as Larry can tell you, they dive-bomb with missile-like accuracy.

A. The purpose is to inform; it explains how people can safely interact with gulls.
B. The purpose is to entertain; the author jokes that gulls will take revenge if people bother them.
C. The purpose is to question; the author doubts gulls can really memorize what people look like.
D. The purpose is to persuade; the author wants to prove that gulls are the most intelligent of birds.

The first thing you need to do is entice your readers. Start by asking them a question. "Have you ever wondered how games have evolved into what we have now?" Then state your thesis, three ideas that support your main idea.

Answer:
When beginning to write an introduction paragraph, you should always start of with a hook that way it could make the readers more interested in what you have to say.
Explanation:

Write a summary of chapter 4 and 5 of fatty legs
Thank you!
Answer:Fatty Legs: A True Story is the 2010 autobiographical account of author Margaret-Olemaun Pokiak-Fenton’s childhood experience in one of Canada’s residential schools for Indigenous children in the 19th and 20th centuries. This study guide is based on the 10th anniversary edition, in which several supplemental chapters written by Pokiak-Fenton’s daughter-in-law explain the larger context of colonialism that created the residential school system. These residential schools represented an attempt to strip Indigenous students of their cultural identities and supplant their Indigenous educations and upbringings with the English language and cultural markers of “Western” (White-European-influenced) cultures. At eight years old, Olemaun Pokiak (her birth name) left her home on Banks Island, within the ancestral homelands of her Inuvialuit community (the Inuit people of the Northwestern Arctic in present-day Canada) and went to the residential Catholic school in Aklavik, on the mainland. Intimidation, humiliation, abuse, and suffering marked Margaret-Olemaun’s schooling experience. Her recollections match the patterns of thousands of other residential school students who have published accounts or given interviews of their time in residential schools across the continent (a similar system extended through the U.S. and was marked by the same assimilation mission and abusive treatment of pupils). The title Fatty Legs comes from a nickname that other students used to torment Margaret-Olemaun author after a cruel nun made her wear unflattering bright red stockings while the other girls wore gray. The story of the two school years, however, is ultimately one about triumph, perseverance, and resilience. In a report produced by Canada’s Truth and Reconciliation Commission—a government body created to collect data on residential school history and educate modern Canadians on the past and present effects of misguided assimilationist policy—the commission determined that the residential schools constituted “cultural genocide.” While the system and concurrent policies diminished Indigenous populations, ignored tribal sovereignty, and damaged Native communities, Indigenous peoples and their diverse cultures managed to survive, even if they were altered by outsiders. Told in the voice of an Indigenous protagonist, the book offers readers a first-hand account of historical anti-Indigenous racism and a story that exemplifies how the targeted populations adapted, resisted, and retained their cultures and identities.

Write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the text medium and the audio medium of “The Tell-Tale Heart,” analyzing how the pace, character, and mood varied within each medium and how these differences affected you.
can somebody help?
“ The Tell Tale Heart” by Edgar Allan Poe claim for me is that the mediums were very similar since they were the same story the only difference was that the audio gave sound effects and made it more imaginative. The pace of the visual reading was much slower than the audio reading because the audio reading gave jump scares and sound effects to make the story go faster, rather in the visual reading you had to take your time and look for context clues to give hints to the reader. For the characters I feel that they were very similar. The only difference was that you actually got to hear the man’s voice in the audio rather in the visual you didn’t you just had to imagine it. And last but not least the mood. In the audio, the sounds and the voices made me feel frightened or panicked rather in the story i just felt aware or alarmed. So after reading both mediums the claim for me was definitely that they were both very similar but each medium affected you a different way.

cAs he thought about the hieroglyphs in Thothmes' and Ramesses' names, Champollion realized their significance. It went far beyond the names themselves and gave him an insight into the entire system of hieroglyphic writing. For the names revealed that hieroglyphs were not simply representations of sounds. Nor did they have an exclusively symbolic meaning, as Thomas Young and other scholars had long believed. Instead, they were a combination of the two.
